Duties & Responsibilities:
Children’s Ministry Manager
- Oversee the Children’s Ministry activities during Children’s/Family events, Sunday services, and any other Children’s Ministry event that might take place.
- Ordering supplies needed for Children’s Ministry events and Sunday services needs. This includes verifying the items have been received and put away properly.
- Managing the inventory of the Children’s Ministry supply closet and maintaining organization of classrooms and Children’s Ministry space.
- Uploading the weekly curriculum into Planning Center - monthly or quarterly.
- Printing, organizing, and distributing the weekly curriculum to teachers.
- Provide regular training to the Children’s Ministry Team (this includes Coordinators, Hall Monitors, Teachers, and Helpers) to include:
- Classroom Management
- Safety Protocol
- Hope City Policies
- Activity Ideas
- Curriculum
- Check In/Out Process & technology
- Responsible for scheduling for the Children’s Ministry Team (for events and Sunday services), updating team members’ preferences, and maintaining an accurate list of team members.
- Follow a Communication Schedule for Children’s Ministry Team that includes:
- Weekly communication to Team Leads (3x / week)
- Intentional discipleship model.
- Monthly communication to the whole team
- Monthly communication to the families of ‘What’s Coming Up’
- Quarterly ‘gathering’ of the whole team for fellowship opportunity.
- Responsible for recruiting volunteers to join the Children’s Ministry Team. This includes attending a quarterly Serve Fair to answer questions about your team.
- Contact new families to welcome to Hope City, answer any questions or concerns, and invite them to return.
- Monthly - Collaborate with Family Ministry Director to coordinate family discipleship communication and support.
- Quarterly - Collaborate with Creative Director to create Children’s Ministry specific merchandise, stickers, and gifts (that can be given to new families).
- Send cards to children and families in Hope City Kids:
- Birthday cards to the children
- ‘Congrats on the new baby!’ to parents
- ‘Thinking of You’ or ‘Praying for You’ to those in need of prayer or going through difficult time
- ‘Thank You’ to volunteers you’d like to recognize
- Communicate immediately with Volunteers Administrator and/or HR Director when assistance is required pertaining to the ministry, volunteers needing support, or corrections needed.
Miscellaneous
- Attend weekly ministry staff meetings.
- Attend the Rock Star Ministry Meeting (typically every 1-2 months, led by the Lead Pastor)
- Always exhibit professionalism, demonstrated by: a well-groomed appearance, conscientious work ethic.
- Able and willing to work at a fast pace within a variety of settings and circumstances, with composure, professionalism, flexibility and accuracy.
- Ability to exercise discernment and wise judgment, always setting an exemplary example.
- A self-starter, good at multitasking, adaptability, and prioritizing projects.
- Maintain personal spiritual development through Bible reading, prayer, and Christian community.
- All other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong evident relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agree with Hope City Church’s doctrinal statement.
- You (and your spouse if married) attend Hope City Church weekend worship services on a regular basis.
- A positive attitude, well-organized, detail-oriented, multitasking ability with exemplary project planning and time management skills.
- Discretion and confidentiality.
- High level of verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of general office equipment.
- Able to comprehend vision/mission/strategy and apply tasks and goals to accurately communicate the Hope City Church brand and voice effectively.
- Approved background check.

- You have, or are currently volunteering in a ministry at Hope City Church.
- Highly motivated, confident, self starter.
