This role will oversee all media platforms through which the mission and marketing of the church and congregation is communicated. Position works closely with the Pastor in carrying out various aspects of church programming, from Sunday services to church communications. Ideal candidate will understand church culture and possess a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-staff setting. Candidate will have experience in all current social media platforms and a background in content development, marketing, writing and copy editing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Prepare marketing and communication plans for internal and external stakeholders and execute steps within a certain time frame.

 Marketing plans should reflect the life cycle of the annual church calendar from Stewardship and Advent themes to congregational meetings and all associated materials from talking points, to digital /print content, to community swag.

 Ensure marketing and communication strategy is consistent with and reflects the church’s strategic mission and vision.

 Build income stream into marketing plans, inclusive of on-site renters, and in collaboration with Pastor, treasurer, bookkeeper, and finance committee, manage rental agreement process and renewals with community members.

 Measure and present results of communication efforts and adjust communication plans as needed.

 Design, edit and revise content as necessary and print internal publications.

 Act as primary writer and editor for content /posts and articles across all media platforms (web, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), and engage with audiences in alignment with church mission and vision.

 Oversee Internet web-based communication including website, creating and maintaining content, hyperlinks, creating graphics, video and photos to tell and articulate the mission of the church.

 Generate a monthly marketing and communications report showing analytics for website, social media, and digital email communications.

 Work weekly to produce order of worship, liturgy, slides, and bulletins, and digital newsletters to the greater community and participating volunteers.

 Publish weekly broadcast/livestream through social media channels following Sunday service.

 Attend Sunday worship (10:30am) and special holiday services to learn and remain connected to the pulse of the congregation and determine the effectiveness of communications for the church community. Assist with volunteer coordination for special events.

 Learn how to operate various types of audio/video equipment and run and manage Sunday morning worship livestream and special events livestream. Able to help troubleshoot and solve issues that may arise on Sunday mornings. Willingness to learn and demonstrate these skills if no prior livestream experience.

 Coordinate with Pastor weekly to ensure ministry/committee announcements are communicated through digital channels and that all Sunday content is properly prepped, reviewed, and ready each week for use on Sunday mornings during the worship service.

 Receptive nature to hear and address concerns and comments from congregants and ministries/committees and share with the appropriate parties and/or church leadership.

 Assist Pastor and Worship Committee in the logistics of church programming.

 Work on site 2-3 days/week and help with office communications to congregants and staff.

Qualifications:

 Computer software and program proficiency including MS Office Suite, website design and management, MailChimp Email platform (or similar), Adobe Photoshop or similar, Google sheets, and PowerPoint experience, and open to learn church CMS Breeze. Proficient in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media programs.

 Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate both one-on-one and to diverse groups. Manage multiple projects on parallel and competing deadlines. Flexible, creative, reliable, and trustworthy.

 Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism preferred.

 Minimum 3 years’ experience preferably in a non-profit setting.

 Position is full-time, 40 hours per week, contract-to-hire after 60 days, should introductory period goals be satisfied.

 Benefits (vacation,medical) to commence after 60 days upon permanent placement.

 Must comply with background check and fingerprint clearance in compliance with Safe Church Policy.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
