Great opportunity for maintenance personnel who have worked in multi-family, commercial or residential property management!

Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center (Non-profit/Church) is looking for a General Maintenance Tech whose primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of the property look clean, well-maintained and functioning "behind the scenes", at all times.

General Responsibilities
* Policing the grounds and parking areas
* Basic maintenance, plumbing and handyman skills and custodial tasks
* Change HVAC air filters and check thermostats.
* Move, set-up, break down buffet tables, chairs for weekly classes and special events, as needed.
* Move/relocate & straighten Sanctuary/folding chairs, seat cushions, move podiums for indoor/outdoor events on occasion.
* Maintain curb appeal and the overall maintenance of the Administrative/Sanctuary buildings, community, parking, fountains, and grounds area to a pristine level.

* Completing service requests in a timely manner
* Minor maintenance: change light bulbs, paint curbs, perform light checks, sweeping, wiping down lawn furniture tables/chairs, placing/removing seat cushions, climbing ladders to replace light bulbs, clean roofs, change air filters, taking inventory, using janitorial supplies, plunge/light repairs on toilets, refill soap/toilet paper/tissue dispensers, clean/maintenance daily all three fountains & waterfall feature on campus, etc.

NOTE: We are not looking for a landscaper as we already have hired a vendor.

Qualifications

Must be able to speak, read and write in English and understand abbreviations on internal room request forms and service requests. You provide a smart phone, appropriate work clothes/shoes and are able to log in/out work time with ADP app.

High School diploma or GED
Be of at least 18 years of age
Working knowledge of garden & fountain equipment (pumps, irrigation, blower, rake, mop, broom, etc.) and bring your own hand tools.

Work independently with minimum supervision. Recent 2+ years maintenance experience onsite property management/multifamily/commercial/residential preferred.

Organizationally skilled, respect and honor fellow staff members, community members, open to new ideas and able to multitask and complete assignments. Cordial & patient personality, efficient, disciplined, time management skills a must!

Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs and able to move objects weighing up to 75lbs.

Working conditions: requires working in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements year-round, working some irregular hours, shifts, holidays and evenings may be required.

HVAC hands on experience/HVAC Universal Certification and CPO a plus!

Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, current registration and car insurance.

You provide your own recent model Smart-phone, maintain appropriate maintenance work clothes & work shoes for various weather changes.

Be computer literate, data entry, complete reports, check/reply/send emails, ability to use MS products such as Word. You are able to effectively communicate and complete tasks on a daily basis.

Tentative schedule approximately 25-30 hours/week.

Offices are closed on Friday/Saturdays however, you may be scheduled to pickup/clean grounds, empty trash cans and set-up/breakdown tables & chairs, beverage/food stations, holiday decorations as needed, for special indoor/outdoor events on either of those days. If you need to work a special event (Memorial/Wedding/Room Rental to set-up/breakdown on a Friday or Saturday then another weekday will be substituted, as necessary).

If you would prefer to work Saturday thru Wednesday that may be a possibility as we do offer some flexibility with the schedule.

Typical work schedule (schedule may be a little flexible with exact times on weekdays to total no more than 30 hours/week):
Sunday 6am-1pm
Mon, Tues and Thurs 10am to 4pm
Wed 2pm to 8pm
If not on a Sunday, tentative schedule may be: Christmas Eve 2pm-9pm/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.

Holiday Schedule

Easter Sunday (4:30am-1pm)

Thanksgiving Eve approx. 3pm - 9pm (Evening before Thanksgiving Day).
If Christmas/New Year's Eve fall on: a weekday/Saturday approx. 3pm - 9pm) or on a Sunday 7am-1pm.

Offices are closed for many Federal Holidays on Monday. More information will be shared pending interview.

Salary $15-$20/hour based upon property management maintenance experience & skillsets level as noted above.
