Takes care of church grounds – outside
Care for plants – weeds, trim back from walkways, clean out dead sections, trim borders, replant as needed, bush/tree trimming (The church will hire a professional tree trimmer for the palm trees)
Keep columbarium and entrances clean of debris – sweep/remove leaves and debris
Check exterior signage
Check and replace exterior light bulbs, etc.
Check irrigation systems – repair/upgrade as needed
Clean out gutters
Check the parking lot – remove trash and leaves
Takes care of church facility – inside
Handle basic repairs and maintenance – premises and equipment
Keep an inventory of janitorial/maintenance supplies and a maintenance log of tasks completed
Check and replace interior light bulbs, etc.
Take out trash and recycling daily
Do some cleaning as needed
Program thermostats as needed
Perform preventive maintenance and handle necessary basic repairs
Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary
Do room set up/take down for events
Help load/unload deliveries
Keep equipment in operating order
Ensure facilities are tidy and functional
Twice a year maintain the ice machine in the Church Kitchen
Report any leaks or problems to Pastor/Office Manager
Miscellaneous duties may be assigned by Pastor/Office Manager
Any extra services required for special events will be paid at an additional pre-agreed rate
A superior candidate for this position will have:
Previous experience in maintenance and groundskeeping
Skill in the use of common hand and power tools
Eye for detail; Strong time management skills; Reliable; Courteous of others
Basic knowledge of HVAC, irrigation systems, plumbing, and electrical services
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
