Job Responsibilites:
First Impressions: ~50%
- Create a welcoming, friendly first impression culture for the church from seat (car) to seat (auditorium) for weekend services and special events.
- Recruit, train and disciple greeting team volunteers who serve in the parking lot, outside entrance doors, and in the lobby.
- Recruit, train, and disciple welcome center volunteers who help guests connect to NPHX ministries and events.
- Recruit, train and lead ushers inside the Worship Center to help attendees feel welcome and find seats.
- Lead first impressions team to provide a fond farewell at close of service.
- Operate the Serve Center as an inviting location to equip volunteers during weekend services and events.
- Oversee Sunday set up of the hospitality team including welcome and information flags, tents, etc…
- Oversee the first impressions presentation of the lobby making sure the environment is clean and tidy.
- Oversee the decorations for Worship Center lobby for Sunday worship and special events.
- Other duties as assigned not to exceed 5%.
Volunteer development: ~45%
- Recruit new volunteers and leaders to meet the ministry resource needs of NPHX Church.
- Onboard new members consistent with vision, values, and character of NPHX Church.
- Train volunteers to accomplish ministry strategies effectively.
- Equip volunteers with needed information, tools, skills, and environments to effectively lead.
- Manage volunteer retention for consistency and longevity in ministry.
Ministry Leadership: ~5%
- Prepare an annual budget that reflects the goals, objectives and programs of the ministry.
- Set, attain, and report on growth and ministry goals.
- Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place and followed for a safe and secure ministry environment.
- Collaborate with other ministry departments.
- Research current events, culture, and community issues that relate to and/or affect ministries under your supervision.
- Participate in general expectations of ministry staff such as staff meetings, team assignments, etc.
Qualifications:
- A committed Christian living a life of obedience; beliefs consistent with NPHX Church statement of faith.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in hospitality preferably in a church setting.
- Highly relational—ability to interact with a variety of people in a variety of circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability to select, build, and lead successful, productive volunteer teams.
- Desire to continue to grow spiritually and in work proficiency required.
- Self-motivation and commitment to excellence is required.
- Ability to effectively manage conflict or other tense/sensitive situations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Familiarity with computer and general technology is required.
- Must be/become a member of NPHX Church.
