Position Summary : The Men’s Prison Program Manager is responsible for managing ASM men’s prison ministries consistent with ASM standards, Mission, Vision, and Values. This includes recruiting, training, scheduling, and oversight of qualified volunteers to deliver ministry services. The Manager will deliver direct ministry services as needed, oversee ministry delivery, recruit candidates for ASM’s Discipleship Training Center Program (DTC), maintain good working relationships with the Department of Corrections and prison staff, and represent ASM in community initiatives as needed. The Manager will work in collaboration with the Executive Director and other staff to develop a vision and strategy for ASM operations and to ensure the strategies are executed.

Essential Functions:
Oversee the delivery of ASM quality ministry services inside men’s prisons services including church, Bible Studies, mentoring, and special events.
Ensures the ministry team is properly resourced to deliver services including facilitating music, vehicle transportation, program information, forms, curriculum, etc.
Delivers direct services as needed or to initiate new services.
Coordinates services in multiple locations and seeks out new ministry opportunities.
Recruits, trains, schedules, and oversees volunteers.
Manages the cohesiveness of the ASM inside ministry team. Addresses issues, resolve conflicts, and ensures compliance with DOC rules and ASM standards.
Recruits qualified inmate applicants for the DTC Program to ensure full census. Admits eligible and appropriate candidates into ASM inside program and monitors their progress. Schedules and interviews program applicants, maintains records, monitors attendance at ASM mandatory inside events. Advocate for programmers when appropriate including preparing for and attending clemency hearings as needed.
Assign ASM mentors and works closely with the mentor to monitor client progress. Coordinates video services or calls with inmates and mentors as needed.
Ensures a good working relationship with DOC staff. Meets with prison chaplains, participates in conferences, troubleshoots issues, and advocates for ASM.
Works with the Executive Director and appropriate staff to cultivate relationships with area churches, businesses and individuals to mobilize their involvement with ASM. Represents ASM at appropriate events, meetings, seminars and help to educate the community regarding ASM programs and services.
Works with Executive Director to vision cast, develop strategy, and set goals with plans for the development of men’s prison ministry and ASM in general.
Maintain focus and clarity on ASM’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Efficiently coordinates a variety of activities and ASM resources, working effectively with management, staff and outside agencies.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Lead or participate in devotions, prayers or other organization activities that promote a credible Christian witness and lifestyle.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three years’ experience in ministry to incarcerated individuals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry, Social Work, or related field preferred.
Experience in leading and building a team focused on life transformational ministry.

SKILLS:
A solid and credible Christian witness and lifestyle that exemplifies Christ in character and actions.
Work independently as well as work effectively in a team environment.
Good interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability of effectively supervising/ managing others, and the ability to relate to a variety of people in a responsible and cooperative manner.
Ability to efficiently and effectively organize, prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Ability to initiate and follow through on all assignments, with attention to detail.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to achieve results through leading and directing the work of others.
A command of all Microsoft Office and software applications used by the ministry.
Professional manner, appearance and communications.
Flexible schedule, position may require weekend and evening hours.
Must meet and maintain DOC approved badge status to enter and minister in Arizona prisons.
Must meet and maintain ASM approved driver status.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIORNMENT : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, taste or smell. The employee will often lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
