Position Summary

The Security Coordinator at Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) is directly responsible for the oversight, and coordination of the safety & security of church facilities, staff, members, guests, and assets. These duties include monitoring the security operations at CCV during the week and weekend services. This is a part-time exempt position, working a flexible schedule with some weeks fluctuating based on workload as agreed to with your supervisor. This position will be assigned to supervise volunteers and manage security operations at any of the current or future CCV locations primarily during weekend services. This role reports to the Area Security Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Strive to keep all CCV campuses at the cutting edge as it relates to security and safety.
  • Occasionally provide coverage in CCV Command Center
  • Recruit, train, resource and lead a team of Safety and Security Volunteers across any of the CCV campuses.
  • Conduct security evaluations, and supervise security volunteers, while fostering a strong team culture
  • Develop and implement security protocols
  • Implement security emergency action plans when necessary.
  • Gifted in skillful communication tactics with a high capacity to stay composed in confrontational and tense situations
  • Strong ability to handle confidential matters and material with utmost excellence and professionalism
  • Excellent task management skills that ensure effective and timely results
  • Customer service oriented and a clear heart to serve others

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice, Public Administration preferred but not required.
  • Job experience in a law enforcement or security preferred but not required.
  • Must be over 21 years old
  • Be able to successfully pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of technical Safety & Security systems including IT, EXACQ Vision video cameras, radio systems, intrusion alarm systems and Alert Media mass communication platform as well as a thorough understanding of complex safety & security programs.
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to perform vigorous physical tasks that will often include long periods of standing, movement, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in order to direct others.
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently during critical periods.
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Obtaining Firearms training and qualification within 6 months of hire date
