SUMMARY

Responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for our After School Program and Day Camp Programs. This includes but is not limited to direct supervision of children, as well as program planning and implementation.

Hours: 7-9AM and 2-5PM

 


Salary Range: $16.50-$18.00 DOE

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 


AFTER SCHOOL/SEASONAL CAMP PROGRAM:

 


  • Assists in the daily operation of the After School Program.
  • Plans and coordinates activities in alignment with children's needs.
  • Responsible for group activity and check in
  • Completes planning and preparation of craft, sport and group games.
  • Communicates effectively and confidentially with parents.
  • Oversees general clean-up of program areas, assists in cleanliness of campus.
  • Maintains professional conduct and attitude, treating children with dignity, respect and loyalty.
  • Maintains professionalism and loyalty to the program and supports the policies of Rock Academy.
  • Ensures the safety of all children, and that all safety guidelines and properly implemented and maintained.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be able to support beliefs of The Rock Academy and The Rock Church through conduct and conversation. Must be 18 years of age, undergoing professional preparations to be a leader of young children or have experience working with young children. Warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with program goals.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to parents, children, and other staff members.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Criminal record clearance obtained by fingerprinting or record clearance prior to reporting to job assignment, including a signed statement regarding criminal convictions. CPR and First Aid Certifications obtained within 10 days of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individual must be able to lead and participate in active sports and games with children. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally small children in an emergency. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
