Position Summary:
Rock Church is seeking an experienced and creative audio professional to join the Media Department. This is more than a technician - this role is a collaborative content creator. This role will support live events with the Prodcution Audio team, but the emphasis will be on supporting the pre-production, production and post-production of video content for the church and global community. This role will also work closely with the Worship department to record and produce music. As part of the Media team, there will be many opportunities to have input into creative film ideas from inception. The ideal candidtate will have experience with live broadcast audio, studio and field audio capture, music editing, and audio mixing and mastering for film and video.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the video team to set up and capture audio on set, in studio and at events
- Work with video editors to edit, mix and master audio for media projects
- Mix live audio for internet livestreams and broadcast television
- Select, edit and mix appropriate songs and sound effects to enhance video projects
- Collaborate with the Media team on creative ideas for video projects
- Manage post-production audio workflows with the rest of the Media team and outside contractors
- Ensure high-quality audio for all video projects from capture to export
- Collaborate with the worship team on original music
- Liase with the worship team in advance of music shoots to coordinate input lists and technical needs
- Maximize stewardship of resources by overseeing the operation and maintenance of audio equipment, training staff, contractors and volunteers on proper use of equipment, and advising on purchase of new equipment
- Work closely with the Production Audio department on sharing of equipment, planning services and shoots, and supporting as necessary
Job-related Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred but not required
- Video experience preferred but not required
- 4 years experience in studio recording, live event, or on set audio required
- Some knowledge of music theory and performance required
Job Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
Experience with the following video systems helpful but not required:
- Final Cut Pro
- Pro Tools
Physical Requirements:
He or she must be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds to shoulder height.
