Position Summary:

 


The Child Protection Plan Coordinator is a dynamic and tactful thinker who helps to provide and ensure a safe place of worship for all, to ensure adherence to the Child Protection Plan policy and procedures among all Rock Church and Academy staff and volunteers. This position manages team member onboarding screening globally for Rock Church, including but not limited to background check screening, badge processes, and other duties as assigned. Incumbent reports directly to the Campus Safety Liaison and will be scheduled to work Sunday-Thursday.

 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 


  • Oversee the creation & adaptation of the Child Protection Plan (CPP) and policies pertaining to it
    • Maintain currency on all applicable local and federal laws and provisions as required by insurance
    • Ensures CPP compliance across all Rock Church locations
    • Maintain CPP policies and update to reflect current best practices and current legislation
    • Manage, maintain, and ensure compliance of the CPP training system
  • Ensure all volunteer background checks and livescans are processed and stored appropriately
    • Coordinate background and livescan review as needed with Campus Safety Liaison
  • Maintain specific vendors for the use of software, programming, training, supplies, and other pertinent areas
  • Receive and process all team member requests for ID badges globally
  • Watch for, act on, and properly report/record data on irregularities such as fire hazards, suspicious activity, people and/or packages, and doors left unsecured
  • Support the central safety team as needed
  • Communication to all team members and staff on matters as needed
  • Serve at major events as a Safety representative
  • Assist with implementing and tracking CPP mandatory trainings
  • Assist in the development of vendor relationships, providing regular status updates, receive performance feedback and cultivate a positive safety presence
  • Provide project development support to the Safety team and lead projects as assigned
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in strategic planning
  • Provide oversight ad take action to protect life & property of the Church & Academy and make written reports as appropriate
  • Performs/coordinates logistical needs in support of ministry events and church initiatives

Job-related Qualifications:

 


Education, Training, and Experience

  • 2 years of college or comparable work experience required
  • Children’s or Youth Ministry experience preferred
  • CPR/AED certified
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment

Organizational and Spiritual Requirements:

 


  • Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity
  • Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others
  • Live by the qualities of a leader outlined in 1 Tim 3
  • Successful completion of a thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which includes: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event
  • Member of the Rock Church (or willing to transfer membership to the Rock Church)
  • Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures and employee handbook
  • Be self-motivated and goal oriented, use good judgment, and is flexible and innovative
  • Professional attitude and demeanor
