Full Job Description

Background:

We love our families and children at Ethnos and we are looking for a new Children’s Director to join our staff team. The person filling this position should have a passion for sharing the good news about Jesus with every child and family that God brings to Ethnos.

Duties:

• Recruit, grow, and schedule volunteers (teachers, etc.)

• Develop relationship with new and visiting parents

• Nurture relationship with regular attending parents

• Equip teachers with materials (curriculum, supplies, snacks, name tags, etc.)

• Equip teachers with methods (coordinate training, facilitate idea-sharing, etc.)

• Create safe space (maintain protocols, etc.)

• Practice fiscal responsibility (propose annual budget, track expenses, etc.)

• Perform other administrative duties (answer email, maintain family contact information, etc.)

• Attend Ethnos staff meeting once a week

• Fulfill obligations and expectations of Ethnos members and Servant Team members (attend quarterly retreat)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Operations of Sunday children’s program (birth through 5th grade)

• Special events (Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.)

• Partner with and support our families in raising children who trust God and follow Jesus with their lives.

Other Requirements: Become a member of Ethnos Community Church. Required to be in San Diego.

Compensation: $15-18/hr (pay commensurate with experience)

Hours: 12-20 hours/week for children / family and staff related work.
