Summary – The role of the Children’s Ministry Coordinator is to support and grow the Children’s Ministry through our vision of Gospel Centered Fun. This position will be responsible for engaging with families and preparing our programs with the goal to provide an atmosphere that is engaging, welcoming, safe, and shows the love for Jesus in all that we do.

Core Function and Duties/Responsibilities

Support Weekend Services

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Engage with families on weekly basis with the goal of meeting new families each week.
  • Building community between families and help facilitate relationships between other parents with children of the same age.
  • Preparing classrooms with appropriate supplies including snack, craft, curriculum, toys, etc.
  • Cleaning up all classrooms, preparing them for the school week
  • Create and participate in an engaging service for babies – 6thgrade to include: worship, message, game, etc.
  • Be willing and joyful to help where necessary during services
  • Attend one service per weekend

Coordinating/Scheduling Volunteers

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly volunteer schedule to ensure adequate coverage in all classrooms
  • Working with new families to offer opportunities to serve
  • Send weekly curriculum to volunteers in timely manner
  • Develop working knowledge of Planning Center scheduling software
  • Confirm attendance of all volunteers prior to weekend
  • Create ways to recognize volunteers for their continued service
  • Set up training sessions for volunteers in order to equip them for success

Children’s Ministry Support

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson curriculum for weekend including all snacks, crafts, activities, along with purchasing appropriate supplies
  • Prepare new monthly curriculum including worship songs, promo videos, set designs
  • Manage the Bible Buck store including purchasing and staffing
  • Attend all weekly meetings
  • Ensure office is maintained in clean working order
  • Completing tasks in a timely manner working to be several weeks ahead to encourage creativity and implementation of new ideas
  • Maintain accurate database of all current Horizon Kids families
  • Answer emails and phone calls in a timely manner

Events Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Support midweek Awana ministry by attending planning meetings, setting up classrooms, creating activities when necessary, serving where necessary, and helping return all classrooms back to working order
  • Plan, prep, and execute all Horizon Children’s Events including but not limited to: VBS, Harvest, Living Nativity, Easter, Promotion Sunday, Summer Events, etc
  • Train and equip volunteers with information on serving at large events as it pertains to the specific function.
  • Willingness to do any other task that may deemed necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability

Work Location: One location
