GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The College ministry Intern will serve the college ministry as directed by the College Pastor in a way consistent with our mission, vision, and values. The College Ministry Assistant will assist with weekly programs, events, discipleship, small groups and outreach to SDSU. He/She will assist with general ministry duties, as directed by the College Pastor. The primary aim of this role is to connect people with the College Ministry and College Ave Church.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

· Build relationships with college students

· Lead weekly outreach times at SDSU

· Mobilize Christ centered student leaders

· Disciples students in small groups on SDSU campus

· Help organize and plan college events on and off campus.

· Help lead Thursday College Group programs

· Assist with follow-up with new students

· Help with various administrative tasks

· Invest relationally in the team, staff, and church family.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Has a heart for accomplishing the Great Commission

· Is growing in his/her leadership abilities

· Teachable and willing to grow and learn

· Able to lead bible studies

· Growing in prayer and devotion to God

· Willing to learn how

 

CHARACTER:

· Spiritually mature, disarming, discerning believer in a vital, growing relationship with Christ.

· Teachable and approachable, one who listens well before speaking.

 

· Takes responsibility and is highly accountable.

· A humble heart that deeply desires to serve the Lord and feels called to advance the mission of the local church.

· High standard of personal holiness whose life is a good example for the church to follow, always operating above reproach.

· If married, has an unwavering love for their spouse, demonstrated by their speech and actions. Their spouse should be supportive of their calling and the ministry. Both should be growing spiritually.

ORGANIZATIONAL & SPIRITUAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

· It is a privilege to serve the Lord in any capacity, particularly a calling to a vocational ministry. Those who serve God on staff at CABC are expected to embrace and maintain a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle both public and personal.

· Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.

· Become a member of CABC and observe membership commitments including regular involvement in CABC church life and ministries.

· Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events.

· Maintain a professional attitude, demeanor, and standard of attire.

· Establish regular office hours and maintain the required hours per week between office, programs, and events.

· Successful completion of a thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which includes: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and lift up to 25lbs (with or without assistance). This position also may require long periods of sitting, standing, walking, and hand/eye coordination for keyboard data entry and viewing data on a computer monitor. COMPENSATION

Church housing can be provided as compensation for 12-15 hours of work a week.
