SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Ministry & Discipleship supports the mission and vision of The Church at Rancho Bernardo (CRB) by providing strategic integration and alignment to all of CRB’s discipleship ministries while building and deploying effective processes for leadership development and management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Leadership
Work with the Senior Pastor and Executive Team to ensure CRB makes decisions according to its vision, values, and primary strategic focus.
Be a trusted partner in ministry and sounding board for the Senior Pastor, ensuring the vision of CRB is clear, refined and consistently reinforced and communicated.
Discipleship, Formation, and Evangelism
In partnership with the Senior Pastor, articulate a clear and consistent understanding of discipleship that aligns with the culture and mission of CRB and integrates “Door - Table - Garden.”
Ensure integration and alignment between all discipleship strategies and programs so that ministry leaders work in collaboration and partnership towards a shared strategic vision.
Develop metrics and methods for measuring transformation in the larger CRB community each year.
Build a culture of missional engagement that results in greater understanding and engagement in evangelism.
Leadership Development
Develop and execute systems of leadership development and management that shape CRB’s culture and raise the leadership bar.
Develop staff for both personal transformation and growing professional effectiveness.
Equip staff to recruit, equip, align, and appreciate lay leaders, teachers, and volunteers of all
ages.
Develop strategic relationship with ministries and leaders throughout the region.
SUPERVISION
Lead, develop, and manage personnel working in next generation (kids & students), adult discipleship, and local/global impact.
QUALIFICATIONS
A dynamic walk with Christ and participation in his mission in the world.
Regular involvement in the mission and programming of Church @ RB.
Robust theological understanding and training.
A Bachelor’s degree is required; however, a Master’s degree is preferred.
High self-awareness with an ability to “read” others and the way they are perceived by them.
An excellent communicator both on and off the platform.
Demonstrated ‘executive presence.'
An ability to influence, build relationships, and foster the relational development of others.
Effective planning and organizational capacity with strong execution and follow-through skills.
Can manage multiple projects simultaneously and make sound, complex decisions while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
