Position Summary:
The Family Resource & Ministry Coordinator, with the Assistance of the Corps Officers and the Youth and Family Director, is responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, managing and implementing ministry and social service’s programming. This will include worship service, adult and youth ministry programming, Family Resource Center intake, screening, and processing of clients for emergency services and scholarship. In addition, answering multi line phone system, food pantry distribution and multiple administrative tasks.

Essential Functions:
Family Resource Center (FRC):
Maintain detailed, complete client records in compliance with Salvation Army policies & procedures
Assist with processing with emergency services, case management and eligibility screening
Assist with enrollment & programming of seasonal events (Back to School, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.)

Scholarships:
Process scholarships for classes, programs, membership, camp via case management
Cash handling of scholarship payments
Tracking of all scholarships for statistics

Food Panty:
Facilitate food distribution through food pantry (filing, packing boxes and produce, verifying eligibility)
Assist with food shopping at the Food Bank
Distribution days on Fridays

Ministry:
Oversee and train staff as directed; maintain on-site Human Resources records
Supervise KCM staff, and coordinate program details with the Corps Officers and other staff.
Communicate details and ensure follow-up with attendees for activities, programs and events.
Coordinate youth program leadership – and train leaders in the Orange Sunday School and Troops curriculum.
Assist & lead in Women’s Ministries, including Women’s bible study
CCM – coordinate visitation with CO for visits/Easter & Christmas CCM distribution
Register attendees and transport to divisional events and residential camps, etcetera.
Assist Corps Officer with Christmas kettles.

Administrative:
Complete KCM statistical reports on time.
Maintain Corps Management Program information and report the weekly People Count to THQ
Maintain all files and records, both physical and electronic, in compliance with Salvation Army Policies & Procedures (P&P)
Update CCMS as needed for KCM events and regularly scheduled programs on a weekly basis and coordinating set-up for the Flash and BEOs.
Within budget, order or buy supplies needed for adult and youth programs.
Address employee and facility issues in timely, thorough manner; inform management as appropriate
Maintain KCM offices, program and storage areas, the Admin. lobby and Kroc Center uniform storage in neat, tidy order.
Provide administrative support to the Corps Officers/Corps Officer’s in all areas of responsibilities
Copying forms
High volume call handling
In person screening and enrollment
Perform all other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 40lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in a social service, customer service and administrative setting.
Minimum high school graduate or equivalent; BA degree preferred
Preferred experience with and knowledge of Salvation Army programs and activities
Ability to read, write, and communicate well in English required, bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License.
Must successfully complete Decision Driving Safety Test before driving for The Salvation Army and annually recertify as required.
Must meet certification by and participation in The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety Program (Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy dictates that an employee may not obtain more than two [2] moving violations or accidents within any 12-month period, per The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy).

Must be able to work and relate well with all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and have demonstrated capabilities working with families and in diverse communities.
Ability to present self in professional manner, maintain confidentiality/sensitivity.
Strong ability with Microsoft Office (including MS Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs, including proprietary Salvation Army programs, with basic training.
