POSITION SUMMARY: Entry-Level position; delivers immigration-related services to qualified applicants and reviews complex and error-prone applications at attorney’s discretion at one of the agency’s immigrant services offices.

POSITION RESPONIBILITIES:
a. Informs clients about requirements related to applying for non-immigrant, immigrant, residency or citizenship status and give information pertinent to service delivery

b. Answers telephone inquiries under program procedures

c. Assists clients with completing intake forms, and all other pre-application questionnaires

d. Ensures clients obtain all required documentation for their file before referring to a DOJ representative

Contacts clients by phone and email to confirm appointments, inform them of notices, and answer questions.
Creates new files and completes all information on forms and reports
Organizes and archives records and documents
Uploads digital files and performs data entry
Secures and protects the privacy of documents

Administrative tasks

Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up to date online case files for all assigned cases by CDSS requirements for case file maintenance and documentation;
Prepare case files for review and monitoring activities in coordination with Program Compliance Monitor and funders;

c. Translate documents and take photographs

d. Make copies and assemble applications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,
Bilingual in English and Pashto or Dari preferred
Associate degree or higher
Fluent in English and Spanish required
Ability to learn quickly and apply accurately details of assigned immigration-related processes, especially DACA, citizenship, status adjustment and green card replacement
Possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail and high standards of quality
Knowledge and familiarity with culture and community of immigrant/refugee population(s)
Ability to use electronic case management database/software with the facility
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Have a cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure a positive, constructive environment within the program or department and throughout the agency.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid California Driver’s License
DMV report that shows no violations or restrictions
Must complete a DOJ / FBI live scan
Tuberculin Skin Test
CPR/First Aid Certification (desired)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must travel to various locations as needed for the program.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
