Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church Preschool – Infant/Toddler Teacher
We are a Christian Preschool looking for a full-time infant/toddler teacher. We believe that children learn best in a developmental environment, and we value the ideas and interests of the children. Applicants should be passionate about early childhood education and love supporting the children’s natural curiosities and creative minds.
We look for applicants who have experience working with infants and toddlers, as this provides a solid foundation and understanding of the children in our care. Applicants should be excited to collaborate with others and have a desire to further their professional education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists outdoor activities ensuring a safe environment for the children
Assist with breaks
Feed children and help with their naptime routine
Assist the teacher with prep work
Respect and honor the needs of the individual child with concern for their interests, special needs, talents, and personal style and pace of learning
Consider individual children about their cultural and socioeconomic background.
Able to sit on the floor, kneel or crouch down to assist children’s needs
Must be enthusiastic, patient, and nurturing
Treat children with dignity and respect
Change diapers
Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff after the children have either departed or are under the supervision of another teacher
Flexibility in working with others in a variety of circumstances
Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth
Participate in events sponsored by the school but not limited to; Christmas program, Open House, and school fundraisers
Must be able to lift to 40 pounds
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements to Apply:
Completed 12 ECE units, including three units in infant toddler (prefer AA or higher degree)
Previous experience in a licensed preschool or early development center (preferred)
Requirements upon hire:
Fingerprint Background Clearance, proof of immunizations, proof of completion of Mandated Reporter training (CA Licensing), and cleared TB test to work in a Licensed Child Care Facility
