Summary of Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Facilities Director, performs a variety of routine maintenance, minor repair, janitorial and groundskeeping functions and is responsible for the overall care and cleanliness of the buildings and grounds at Grace Point Church and Carmel Valley Preschool.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
1. Providing all landscape maintenance operations: (40%)
a. Inspects, repairs, and adjusts existing irrigation systems to meet industry standards as it relates to evaporation rates. Maintain all irrigation lines and components including valves, heads, and nozzles. Adjusts and repairs all irrigation timers and timing mechanisms for the various zones and cycles.
b. Operate church-owned vehicles and a variety of hand and power tools specific to the maintenance operation of Church facilities.
c. Tree trimming maintenance for various species throughout the Church properties (no climbing required).
d. Removal of invasive species.
2. Assist Facilities Director with minor repairs and building projects. (40%)
a. Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable safety procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
b. Work independently on tasks such as painting, pressure washing, and similar projects.
c. Set up and tear down for events
d. Clean and organize storage areas and workshop
3. Clean and resupply designated building areas: (20%)
a. Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.
b. Spot clean carpets on an as-needed basis.

Physical Requirements:
Able to reach and lift objects above head level.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
Able to bend, sit, stoop, stretch, kneel, and work in a crouched position.
Able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift (excluding breaks and lunch).
Able to climb up and down a ladder and stairs daily.
Compensation:
Hourly rate range ($20-24 per hour)
40 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in landscaping, general maintenance, and experience with modern cleaning and groundskeeping methods and procedures. Valid California driver’s license required.
