JOB SUMMARY

The Pastoral Coaching Liaison position exists to extend the work of the Center for Pastoral Leadership and build relationships with Latino constituent pastors and churches specifically through the work of the Ministerial Coaching Grant.

Schedule: Part-time, up to 19 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES
This work will be primarily composed of the following tasks...

Coordinating group coaching sessions,
Assisting in the translation of sessions and materials to Spanish when needed,
Co-leading group coaching sessions,
Providing contextual consultation on how to navigate cultural differences and better serve our Latino pastoral community,
Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of training events.
Perform other duties as assigned relating to Lilly Grant work
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Theology or Organizational Leadership is required. A graduate degree or willingness to pursue a graduate degree is desired.
Elder in the Church of the Nazarene and experience as a local church pastor is required.
Spanish Bilingual. Functioning as a native speaker in English and Spanish with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages.
Proven ability to build trusting relationships and work collaboratively with others while demonstrating strong emotional intelligence.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, strategic thinking, practical solutions, and a strong work ethic with a reputation of integrity that is above reproach.
Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of Point Loma Nazarene University with demonstrated respect and appreciation for the Church of the Nazarene.
Proficiency with software such as Zoom, Word, Windows, and Excel required.
Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organization skills and the ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions.
Ability to communicate and exercise effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the University and church community.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work experience in Christian higher education and church relations
Coaching Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Ability to read documents, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs throughout the day.
