Venue Childrens Ministry Coordinator

Primary Function: Provide DIRECTION, ORGANIZATION & ADMINISTRATION for a particular Childrens Ministry Department to ensure effective Bible teaching, application, recruitment of volunteers and care of children.

Sunday Morning Responsibilities:

  1. Affirm, support & encourage department staff (teachers, parent-helpers, volunteers).
  2. Organize all department sessions to ensure smooth functioning and quality Christian Education, including:
    1. Staff scheduling.
    2. Room set-up.
    3. Supplies and equipment needs.
    4. Substitute teaching if necessary.
  3. Observe and evaluate department staff to note problems and improvements.
  4. Serve as liaison to parents and Kids Kare Coordinator

Team Responsibilities:

Commitment & loyalty to Shadow Mountain Community Church, its leadership, mission and goals.

  1. Work with the Pastor to:
    1. Enlist & train new volunteers
    2. Train current volunteers
    3. Recommend and secure adequate facilities and resources.
    4. Develop divisional goals and objectives and implement a plan to meet them.
    5. Attend and encourage age-level staff attendance at training sessions.
    6. Attend leadership training and planning meetings with other Department Coordinators and Site Pastor.
    7. Complete and submit weekly numbers to the site Pastor

How this is done::

  1. Invest in age-level staff by:
    1. Shepherding
      1. Spend individual time with team leaders, teachers and team members to know strengths, weaknesses, concerns and prayer needs.
      2. Being available to assist with needs and problems.
    2. Equipping
      1. Provide hands-on individual training for personal growth.
    3. Communicate between Age-level staff members, team leader, teachers and team members.

Oversee Weekend Children Ministries Program:

  1. Ensure curriculum for all classes is ordered & distributed
  2. Ensure adequate supplies & equipment for childrens programs are ordered, distributed and maintained
  3. Secure a safe and healthy environment for children including a system of consistent, efficient, and safe check-in and check-out system
  4. Ensure proper set-up for all programs
  5. Observe and evaluate to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness of programming for all childrens programs

Desired Gifts & Abilities (most beneficial for this position):

  2. Abilities Enthusiasm; self-starter; flexibility; dependability; team player; communication; high standards of excellence.
  3. 3 years plus experience in children's ministry.
