The Holy Rood Collaborative, a group of three local churches in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, will soon host a ‘Hand 2 Heart Campaign’ in its upcoming Catholic Heart Work Camp 2022 event.

From July 17 to 23, selected members of the churches will go together to North Haledon, New Jersey, to conduct community services.

As per the church website, several members of the Collaborative will join the annual work camp, including numerous teenagers and adults. They will head to North Haledon, NJ, more than 200 miles from the Collaborative.

After going to North Haledon and serving the less fortunate people in the community, the work camp volunteers will go to the greater Patterson area in NJ, where the church members will have approximately 600 hours of community service.

There were no available details on the exact services the volunteers will be doing. But, the Collaborative states that aside from volunteer work, the church members will have a deeper connection to God after the week-long work camp.

All the participants of the event will reportedly grow into their Catholic faith and build friendships with other church members.

The week-long camp will also house Adoration services, talks, reflection sessions, and daily Mass for everyone to benefit from.

Collaborative Seeks Donations, Prayers

The other members of the church who will not be joining this year’s work camp can either donate money to the volunteers or pray for their safety during the week-long event.

As per the same website, The Holy Rood Collaborative has already installed red and white envelopes on each of the bulletin boards inside the three churches, St. John the Evangelist Parish, St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, and St. Mary Parish.

As explained, the white sealed envelopes are for those who wish to pray for the volunteers attending the work camp. Each of the white sealed envelopes reportedly has the name of a specific camper or chaperone.

The non-attendees of the work camp must pray as often as they like using the included prayer guide inside the white sealed envelope. They can also add personal prayers if they wish.

According to the announcement, the white envelopes are sealed to ensure that everyone in the work camp will receive prayers from the three churches.

Members should also note that once the seal is broken in any white envelopes, they must be mindful to follow the prayer guide and do it every day for the whole week.

If a member has enough money to donate to the volunteers, the Collaborative welcomes monetary support from everyone. Similar to the white sealed envelopes, the red envelopes, which signify the monetary donation, will be spread throughout the three churches.

Each red envelope is said to be a commitment to donate at least $10, which equates to an hour of service from the volunteers. The red envelope will have instructions on where to drop the donations, as well as a prayer intention card.

The church reportedly accepts online donations, checks, and cash payments.
