The primary role of the Host is to set up and provide service for our Sunday weekly coffee hour and special events.

Coffee Hour and Special Event Duties

  • Set up tables for Sunday Coffee Hour and tables, tents, and chairs for special events
  • Prepare and serve coffee, simple treats and cold beverages
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary church kitchen
  • Monitor kitchen supply levels and coordinate with the Director of Operations on ordering supplies and food
  • Keep the refrigerator and freezer clean and organized
  • Ensure that church leadership, congregants, and visitors have what they need on Sunday mornings and during special events
  • Break down set-ups after the event concludes, storing away furnishings and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • This is a physically demanding job. Candidates must have the ability to climb steps and ladders as well as to bend, pull and push; the ability to move and carry objects; and the ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must be able to work long periods of time standing, walking, stooping, bending, climbing, etc. Candidates must be able to work outdoors through the heat of the summer and the cold of winter—our Sunday coffee hour and most of our special events are outdoors.
  • Candidates must be friendly and courteous with a strong work ethic. We need someone who is trustworthy, dependable, and a self-starter. Our host will interact with our staff, our parish leadership, our congregation, and visitors. Our host will coordinate with our director of operations on a weekly basis—we need someone with good communications skills.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check

Hours

8am to 2pm Sunday—sometimes we will need more time from you on Sunday
