The primary role of the Janitor is to keep St. David’s building and grounds safe, clean, and welcoming.
Cleaning Duties
- Clean sanctuary, bathrooms, undercroft, kitchen, offices, and boiler room with attention to detail
- Prepare all recycling and trash for weekly pick up
- Identify and make any minor repairs as needed
- Record large repairs and maintenance issues for review by the Board
- Coordinate with the Director of Operations to maintain supply stock
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- This is a physically demanding job. Candidates must have the ability to climb steps and ladders as well as to bend, pull and push; the ability to move and carry objects; and the ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must be able to work long periods of time standing, walking, stooping, bending, climbing, etc.
- Candidates must be friendly and courteous with a strong work ethic. Our janitor will be at the church cleaning alone regularly—we need someone who is trustworthy, dependable, and a self-starter. Our janitor will also interact with our staff, our parish leadership, our congregation, and visitors. Our janitor will coordinate with our director of operations on a weekly basis—we need someone with good communications skills.
- Janitorial experience is a must
- Candidates must be able to pass a background check

3 hours Tuesday evening, 3 hours Thursday evening—exact timing is flexible
