Saint Rita School in Alexandria, Virginia, is a Catholic School in the Classical tradition. We
teach students to serve God and others and to always seek the good, the true, and the
beautiful. Our aftercare program for Kindergarten-8th grade students runs after school every
day, and involves the supervision of approximately 20 mixed-age children as they eat an
afternoon snack, work on homework, and go outside to play. 3-6 pm are the core hours the
program is operational, on all days that school is in session, with occasional earlier hours due to
a scheduled early dismissal of school. Applicants need to have a college degree in education,
nursing, recreation or related fields, or have significant experience working in a childcare
program. The ideal Director would be well-organized, with an ability to maintain staff files, meet
state licensure requirements, manage the Extended Day staff and keep the children engaged,
well-behaved, and having fun. Our current Extended Day Director is happy to train in a new
person and provide support for a smooth transition. Preference is given to practicing Catholics,
as our Faith informs all that we do
