Who is First Baptist Church Pinehurst?
The church was planted in June 2002 with 45 members and support from FBC Southern Pines, Aberdeen First Baptist, Sandhills Baptist Association, and The NC Baptist Association.
David Marks, Senior Pastor from 2002 – 2017. Interim Pastor, Charles Royal, from June 2017 to May 2018. Senior Pastor Chuck Vickers from June 2018 to January 2022.
Demographics – healthy mix of seniors, young families, and children/youth. Surrounding communities include (approx. population): Pinehurst – 16,000, Whispering Pines – 3,000, West End – 11,000, Carthage – 3,000. All of Moore County – 98,000.
Two Sunday Worship Services – 8:30 am (Modern) and 11:00 am (Classic). Sunday School at 9:45 am.
Church membership: 320 Attendance (average): 8:30 Worship – 143, Sunday School – 170, 11:00 Worship – 111, Wednesday night meal and prayer meeting -107.
Staff Includes Children & Sr. Adult Pastor, Student & Young Adult Pastor, Worship & Missions Pastor, Full-Time Church Administrator, and Pianist.
Approximately $720,000 annual budget. Since its inception, congregational giving has exceeded the budget.
Campus (19 acres): Facility (approx. 30K square feet): Church Fellowship Hall (with Industrial Kitchen) seats approx. 300, Sanctuary seats approx. 400 with state-of-the-art worship capabilities including stage, baptismal and sound booth, seven adult Sunday school rooms, Choir Room/Worship Pastors office, three executive offices, children’s wing with eight classrooms, covered playground area, two additional mobile classrooms.
