SUMMARY
Keeps Church premises (including Sanctuary, offices, meeting rooms and classrooms) in clean and orderly condition and monitors furnace, air conditioner, boiler, and other equipment to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for occupants by performing the following duties. The church facility is normally open seven days per week. Therefore, work schedule may include regular weekend duty, with alternative day(s) off during the week. The schedule is determined by the Facilities Manager and is normally the same each week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned consistent with the custodial tasks and which the Facilities Manager determines are essential to this position.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes and vacuums Sanctuary, hallways, stairs, office space, meeting rooms and classrooms.
- Empties trash and garbage containers. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
- Unlocks and locks external and internal doors as necessary and according to procedures. Checks building and locks all doors at end of daily activities (if on duty). Maintains watch for security problems and rectifies or alerts Supervisor.
- Looks for and notifies Supervisor of any misuse of the facility.
- Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Provides support for internal and external events.
- Prepares Sanctuary for Sunday services following guidelines outlined in custodial manual
