ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following (but not limited to)

Work closely with internal/external stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of upcoming meetings, events, and engagements centered around travel events & high-level local meetings/engagements.
Serves as protocol advisor to the staff, Military Treatment Facility, and installation-level points of contact.
Provides policy and procedural guidance for the Director and DAG, as well as, other applicable staff concerning proper protocol requirements for visiting.
Prepares/updates presentations, protocol briefings/reports, correspondence, and performs special projects.
Possesses strong problem solving, analytical skills, and the ability to make recommendations/provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion and meet deadlines.
Establish and maintain effective/professional liaison with counterparts across the DHA and other organizations in the DoD.
Ability to author and/or construct notes, letters, invitations, and RSVPs IAW DoD regulations.
Manage client deliverables and track ongoing needs/requests of our team.
Travel as needed to support client engagements and activities

REQUIRED - EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Minimum 5 years’ experience and Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience working with s enior level Department of Defense staffs, flag officers, and executives.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

REQUIRED - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
Comfortable working with senior executives in health care setting or in the federal government.
Capable of working collaboratively with teams – military, government civilian, and contractor personnel.
Work well under the pressure associated with multiple short-notice deadlines.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to execute in a bureaucratic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel).

EMPLOYEMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Drug Screen/Background Check:
Must be able to successfully pass a Federal background check and drug screen.

COVID:
Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates COVID vaccines for federal contractors.
Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The duties of this position are primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
Moderate travel of up to 30% and overnight stay may be required.
The duties of the position may require substantial amounts of irregular work hours.
The employee is responsible for recognizing (without supervision) circumstances which require the individual to remain on duty.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $ 120,000 - $ 135,000 annually

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The DHA is a joint/integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime.
The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries; is responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS.
The Director's Action Group (DAG) provides senior executive support to the Defense Health Agency Director.
The DAG consist of a dedicated team that performs forward-looking & related strategic functions.
The DAG responsibilities will ensure the Director’s executive resources are properly aligned with the Director’s vision, strategy, and priorities; the DAG is expected to bring creative yet critical analysis that supports this vision.
