JOB SUMMARY: The Volunteer Program Coordinator implements and supports volunteer intern engagement activities. The position builds and maintains relationships with program staff who manage volunteers and with community partners to recruit
volunteers and interns. The position supports matching, screening, on-boarding, training, educating, and recognizing volunteers, interns, and staff who engage volunteers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the development of volunteer and intern placements and execute recruitment strategies.
Manage the screening and on-boarding of volunteers and interns.
Establish and cultivate strong collaborative relationships with Catholic Charities staff members who engage volunteers and interns.
Supervise volunteers and interns placed in the Volunteer Engagement Office.
Support large-scale, agency-wide volunteer events that serve clients, such as the holiday volunteer events program and the Mission of Mercy Dental Clinics.
Collaborate with Volunteer Manager to plan and implement periodic activities to recognize volunteers and build a sense of community among them,including opportunities to reflect on their experiences.
Collaborate with Volunteer Manager to identify, create, and lead relevant education, training, and orientation for volunteers and complimentary training for Catholic Charities program staff who engage volunteers.
Identify, foster, and track relationships with relevant community partners, Catholic schools, colleges, and Catholic Charities programs to help meet the needs of our clients, staff, and programs through volunteer activities, events,
and programs.
Utilize the volunteer management database to manage, track, and report on
volunteer engagement.
Represent Catholic Charities and the Volunteer Services Office at community or Agency events.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, IT, social sciences or related field.
2 years’ experience managing projects and databases.
2 years’ experience coordinating volunteer programs and activities and/or significant experience as a volunteer.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
Extensive computer knowledge and skills in applications such as Microsoft Office, Better Impact, WordPress, Google Drive, Canva, and other internet applications.
Ability to work well independently and with a team.
