Qualifications
Ability to move, load and unload equipment and supplies weighing no greater than 40 pounds
Able to work independently and without direct supervision
Able to walk long distances around church buildings
Able to bend, stoop, squat and reach; climb ladders and scaffold
Able to make sound judgment decisions related to all types of emergencies and safety matters
Must have regular timely attendance during stated or negotiated hours
Possess excellent communication skills and a team player with the staff
Successful completion background clearances
High school diploma or GED
Possess knowledge of procedures, practices, tools, and equipment used in maintenance
Responsibilities
The Maintenance/Custodial Staff position is responsible for the appearance, cleanliness and sanitizing of the church facilities
In addition, the Maintenance/Custodial Staff is responsible for closing the church and ensuring that the building is locked and secure and all security alarms and systems are activated
Also performs custodial duties including, but not limited to, cleaning services (e.g. trash removal, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, etc.) in the church, and church offices
General cleaning of church building (sanctuary, chapel, meeting rooms, parking lot) and keeping it in sanitized condition
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
Cleaning and stocking all restrooms
Clean up spills in building with appropriate equipment
Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
Notify Executive Minister of needed repairs
Secures and stores all cleaning supplies and equipment upon completion of cleaning
Assists in setting up and dismantling tables, chairs and other equipment as needed
Assists in other areas related to overall maintenance of the church when needed
Regularly checks security monitors for suspicious or unusual activity
Performs duties as directed by Executive Minister
Benefits
Compensation will be $17.00 per hour for 15 hours per weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday);
and payment is made on the 4thFriday of each month
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
