Before the forum, there will be an Evensong service at 5:15 p.m. in Immanuel Chapel.

About Virginia Theological Seminary

St. Paul's Church of Alexandria, Virginia, established the Virginia Theological Seminary in 1823.

It has a long history of training devout women and men for leadership positions in The Episcopal Church and beyond. It is the most prestigious seminary in the Anglican Communion.

According to the website, VTS has been recognized by the Association of Theological Schools as one of its member institutions since 1938. Moreover, the Higher Education Act of 1965 recognizes it as a "reliable authority as to the quality of postsecondary education."

VTS Mission

Virginia Theological Seminary trains leaders to share the Gospel and participate in God's purpose worldwide. It is a racially and culturally diverse Episcopal Church residential community dedicated to worship, prayer, teaching, learning, research, and service to the church.

Its ministry and purpose are founded on a beautiful campus in a residential community, where individuals daily practice the discipline of worship. They also engage in challenging graduate studies and enjoy lively table fellowship in the Refectory.

The website shows VTS has ministry partners worldwide thanks to its strong ties to the Anglican Communion and the Center for Anglican Communion Studies.

They treasure their connections with others of different faiths and cultures, viewing them as a means to mutual understanding and growth.

Global Impact

VTS has pioneered Anglican witness and education worldwide for the past two centuries.

As a vital component of that commitment, the Center for Anglican Communion Studies places its scholars and studies at the disposal of those seeking a more ecumenical and racially fair form of Anglicanism across cultural boundaries.

They strengthen the global Anglican and Episcopal community by organizing conferences, offering consultations, and providing financial backing for joint projects with other churches and theological institutes.
