CIM Group announced on Thursday that it acquired a 1.3-acre property of West Angeles Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Los Angeles, thus signaling a formal partnership with the latter. The partnership reportedly aims to build a mixed-use complex with 168 apartment units to provide homes and opportunities to those in need.

Acquiring Church's Property To Build Apartment Units

CIM Group CEO Shaul Kuba and West Angeles COGIC Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. have been working to revitalize Crenshaw Boulevard between Jefferson and West Adams Boulevards for nearly two decades.

Recently, CIM acquired the church's property, which is situated in the heart of Los Angeles. It will be home to various dining options, entertainment venues, and retail and service establishments that serve the local community.

According to BusinessWire, Crenshaw Boulevard Station will be conveniently accessible to future residents, which connects Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. It also stated that it is close to key east-west links, including the West Adams Boulevard, Exposition Boulevard, and Interstate 10 Freeway, in addition to its placement on Crenshaw Boulevard, which is a significant north-south road.

After the closure of the former West Angeles COGIC, which once stood on the corner of Crenshaw and Exposition Boulevards, the land was rezoned for new construction.

Per the report, the West Angeles Church is moving its congregation and services from its north campus to the south campus location at Crenshaw and Exposition after 43 years.
