Bands to perform in Rose Parade 2023
As reported by Daily Breeze, among the bands participating in the parade will be at least six first-time performers as well as long-time veterans, including the Los Angeles Unified School District All District High School Honor Band, the Pasadena City College Herald Trumpets, the PCC Tournament of Roses Honor Band, and the Long Beach-based The Salvation Army Tournament of Roses Band.
Bands from Taiwan, China, Japan, Italy, Mexico, and Panama and familiar locations like Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Pasadena will perform. Additionally, groups from as far away as Texas, Georgia, Iowa, Arizona, Michigan, and Virginia will also be on hand to perform.
Only a handful of Rose Parades are ever held on a Sunday. When officials shifted the annual march back a day in 1893 to prevent scaring horses waiting outside the churches in the region, the custom was born. During the coronavirus pandemic in 2021, the Rose Parade was forced to be postponed. It was finally held in Pasadena again in 2022.
About Rose Parade
In addition to floats decked with flowers, the Rose Parade features equestrian units, bands, and Tournament Entries, which traverse 5 1⁄2 miles down Colorado Blvd.
As stated on its website, participants in the Rose Parade have a lengthy history of keeping the Tournament of Roses' traditions alive. Around 3,000 people watched the first Tournament of Roses parade, which featured flower-draped horse-drawn carriages.
Since then, they've become technological marvels hidden beneath flowers and other natural materials, and it's amazing to see how well they've held up.
The Tournament of Roses Association's 935 volunteer members donates more than 80,000 hours of service per year. "White Suiters," as they've been called, are hardworking men and women who give up their evenings, weekends, and holidays to help run the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, California.
