The Aim Higher Foundation (AHF) provides scholarships to ensure that all children, regardless of background, can access a Catholic school. AHF is an independently operated, non-profit organization supported by those who believe in the transformational power of a Catholic education. Since 2012, AHF has awarded more than 14,000 scholarships worth $12.8 million.

Position: Associate Director of Operations
Report to: President

The Aim Higher Foundation is seeking an Associate Director of Operations to support the day to day operations of key initiatives. The Associate Director will primarily be responsible for assisting with the running of the Foundation’s operations, scholarship programs, and certain fundraising projects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Provide general operations support for the Foundation
  • Provide support to the President and the Finance Committee in managing financial projects and calendars; including budgeting, annual forecasting, and managing internal controls processes.
  • Manage banking and supporting foundation relationships.
  • Support the work and processes of the annual audit.
  • Prepare agendas, talking points, and materials for the Finance Committee.
  • Serve as liaison between the President, Treasurer, and Accountant to ensure finance projects are completed on schedule.

Scholarships

  • Enhance the operations of the scholarship programs by providing customer service to school leaders and families who would benefit from our scholarship funds.
  • Execute scholarship projects and tasks in TADS or other financial aid software services.
  • Assist in the management of scholarship communications to school leaders and families including developing application-related content for the website, social media, and print materials.
  • Assist in the development of initiatives that help remove barriers to the application process for families who speak languages other than English.
  • Help track and report on application and scholarship data.

Advancement

  • With the President and the Associate Director of Advancement, share in the responsibility for the success of all fundraising endeavors.
  • Support fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Facilitate the connection between fundraising efforts and financial reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Deep respect for and commitment to the work to provide educational opportunities to children from all backgrounds.
  • Proven experience working with and providing exceptional support to constituents from vastly different backgrounds.
  • Extensive experience using Excel to develop reports, models, operational tools, and other documents to achieve organizational goals.
  • Experience with financial budgeting, forecasting, and controls.
  • Training or working experience with information systems including CRM, donor database, financial aid applications, and other cloud-based support software.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Working understanding of non-profit and/or school operations and boards.
  • Excellent interpersonal ability, verbal and written communications skills, and high emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines while providing an acute attention to detail at all times.
  • Knowledge of financial operations in a non-profit organization.
  • Exceptional skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with scholar families, staff, board members, school leaders, and the general public.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
