Primary Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute weekly worship in coordination with the Pastoral Staff and Church Organist.
• Coordinate and lead special music for worship, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Participate in worship planning with pastor and organist, including coordinating hymn selection with Church Organist, as needed.
• In collaboration with organist, arrange for instrument support outside of organ/piano and for vocal support for special songs.
• In collaboration with Administrative staff and volunteers, recruit people of all ages, with a special emphasis on children and youth, to participate in worship and music ministries including, but not limited to: Musicians, Sound Technicians, Communion Assistants, Nursery Attendants, Sacristans, Readers, Ushers, Greeters, and Acolytes
• Coordinate and support special-event music; including, but not limited to: Scheduling dates for pop up choirs, instrumental ensembles, etc.; Planning and directing a yearly Advent Program for Children, youth, and adults; Arranging for instrumental support; Helping with Song choice; Leading or recruiting leadership for any practices to be held in advance; Creatively engaging Children and Youth in music ministries.
• Have a strong understanding of current trends in worship as well as a deep respect for the structures of worship.
• Have an eclectic musical background and the ability to select, coordinate, and lead music in Spanish, English, and other Global music as appropriate for worship.
• Coordinate, schedule, and ensure for the quality recording of online worship. Help with the recording sessions to provide an extra set of hands and feet.
• Be active and present in the weekly Sunday morning ministries of Nokomis Heights.
