Job Summary

The Senior Church Loan Closing Specialist manages the entire closing and funding process for church mortgage loans, ensuring integrity of documentation for investments in real property loans. Works closely with investment underwriters, relationship managers, borrowers, legal counsel and third party vendors to obtain all necessary approvals and documentation. Provides loan production assistance where appropriate.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Originate and establish checklist based on mortgage loan commitments; continuously monitor progress of the loan closing.
  • Ensure resolution to title and survey issues to verify the title insurance requirements have been met in conjunction with the loan commitment.
  • Obtain and submit for approval all required third party reports and ancillary documentation required by the mortgage loan commitment. Analyze and summarize reports as directed.
  • Identify issues which negatively impact loan funding; provide assistance to investment underwriters, legal counsel, and portfolio managers to resolve and/or mitigate issues.
  • Obtain, review and approve evidence of all insurance documentation required by the mortgage loan commitment; obtain and submit for approval any additional required documentation.
  • Prepare all necessary mortgage loan and related documents to perfect the collateralization of security as required by the loan commitment.
  • Coordinate and schedule loan closings, ensuring availability of funds and confirming all closing requirements of the mortgage loan commitments are in compliance and complete.
  • Initiate funding process; manage post-closing requirements.
  • Monitor, manage and educate church borrowers regarding loan requirements and all due diligence items needed.
  • Handle more complex and larger loan closings for traditional Church loan investments, loan modifications, and construction loans. (Sr. Church Loan Closing Specialist)

  • Other responsibilities as from time to time directed by management.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • College degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of varied mortgage/real estate experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage related documentation. Paralegal certification preferred.
