Position Summary

Ave Maria Academy is looking for a dynamic and energetic part-time Events Coordinator to join our team. The Special Events Coordinator first and foremost supports the mission of Ave Maria Academy to form young minds, hearts and souls to love Jesus Christ and develop a character that allows for true Christian leadership. The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing our three major annual fundraising events along with the annual fund to help ensure we reach our fundraising goals. This is a part-time (20-25 hour/week), year round position with some evenings and weekends required. The position offers flexibility to work remotely and on campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Events: The Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and execution of Ave Maria Academy’s three annual fundraising events:

  • Golf: The annual Golf event is one of Ave Maria Academy’s key fundraisers to support the educational needs of the school throughout the year.
  • Gala: The annual Gala is Ave Maria Academy’s main fundraising event. The support from this event helps the school provide quality Catholic education and the ability to keep the tuition system affordable and viable.
  • Crusader Classic 5K: The Crusader Classic 5K is an annual Ave Maria Academy community event and fundraiser. Students go out into their communities and spread the word about AMA.

Crusader Sponsorship

The Crusader Sponsorship is an option for individuals, families, and businesses to sponsor all three school events at the beginning of the school year. The Special Events Coordinator facilitates the message of this sponsorship in light of the fundraising event details and fundraising goals and manages the relationship with the sponsors.

Grandparents Club

Ave Maria’s Grandparents Club is an organization that drives engagement of grandparents with the school community. The Special Events Coordinator will work with the volunteer grandparents club committee members to plan and execute activities and events for grandparents throughout the year, including our annual Grandparents’ Day celebration.

Annual Fund & Donor Relationships

The Special Events Coordinator is responsible maintaining existing benefactor relationships. This includes serving as the staff coordinator for the Annual Fund as well as managing our donor database.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred. • Practicing Catholic with an excellent moral reputation and apostolic passion for working for the school • Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic education. • Ability to bring energy, creativity, professionalism and community relations expertise that will make a substantial impact on special events while enhancing the image of the school. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage a variety of tasks and deadlines. • Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. • Meet and comply with all OPCY requirements • Required to work some evenings and weekends
