To support the Diocese of Phoenix in its mission to Encounter the Living Christ, this bilingual administrative position will assist the Bilingual coordinator for the Office of Marriage and Respect Life on the day-to-day with a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including extensive Spanish communication.

This part-time position consists of 25 hours per week.

Essential Job Functions

Assist Marriage and Respect Life Coordinator with day-to-day office tasks including but not limited to correspondence via emails and phone calls, scheduling, room reservations, disbursement requests, catering requests, events registrations, and other clerical duties.
Assist with editing and translations, primarily in Spanish.
Help facilitate all Spanish Marriage Prep Retreats including, not limited to annual retreat calendar, online scheduling, correspondence with couples, retreat changes and cancelations, catering, receptionist, maintaining inventory, ordering of materials, preparing materials, and rooms set up, copy requests, and any other administrative duties required.
Assist with frequent Spanish communication, via Flocknote, monthly newsletters, website edits and updates.
Support Coordinator in the development and marketing efforts to help increase exposure of the Spanish Respect Life Office in our Diocese and beyond.
Assist Coordinator with planning and logistics of multiple annual office events including, and not limited to forming a team of volunteers, registration, flyer design, event set up, promotion via email, Flocknote, and other social media.
Attend and assist Coordinator at offsite events and activities as needed.

Additional Job Functions

Performs any job-related tasks as assigned by the Director or Coordinator.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Must be bilingual and bicultural. To communicate effectively, the candidate must have experience working primarily with Spanish speaking communities from all socio-economic backgrounds.
Must be able to articulate both in English and in Spanish to accurately write and complete a variety of correspondence including but not limited to forms, emails, letters, bulletin announcements, social media posts, and marketing materials.
Must have excellent organizational, typing, design, and communication skills with attention to detail and process.
Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with supervisor, staff, volunteers, and people from the community.
Ability to proficiently work with Flocknote (email program) and compose, lay out, and send emails to key volunteers and general email list.
Knowledge of graphic design, website editing, and social media.
Must be able to work at the office at the Diocesan Pastoral Center according to a consistent schedule as directed by the Coordinator.
Working knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Publisher, Excel, PPT) as well as use of social networking platforms.
Must have the ability to travel to other locations in the Diocese of Phoenix for office events, meetings, and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Active practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church.
Must be bilingual and bicultural.
Must have a clear understanding of the basic church teaching on marriage and respect life.
Passion for evangelization and welcoming customer service.
Team player who wants to achieve success and serve with others.
Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and reliable transportation with requisite insurance liability minimums.
AA degree or two years of college preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role with regular travel to other locations in the Diocese of Phoenix. This job may include filing and would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
