Description:
This position plans, develops, and manages all aspects of catechetical ministries for children in grades K-12 and adults in the RCIA program in coordination with, and under the direction of, the Pastor. The is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. Responsibilities, include, but not are limited to:

Advertise, schedule and coordinate program registrations and maintain student/family database.
Coordinate class groups and prepare class schedules.
Order faith formation materials and supplies for children and adults.
Recruit catechists and other program volunteers; schedule and coordinate in-service training, retreats, and formation for catechists and program volunteers.
Coordinate and prepare events/service celebrations for students and parents.
Work with parent groups to emphasize Family Faith Formation.
Work with Pastor on sacramental rites and liturgy planning for students and adults.
Work with the school principal and family liaison for student sacrament preparation and sacrament liturgies.
Work with parish staff to ensure proper sacrament recording and notifications.

Requirements:
If not already certified, the ability and willingness to obtain catechist/catechist trainer certification; engage in ongoing professional formation; keep informed of trends in Faith Formation ministry; participate in Diocesan workshops and seminars.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional courtesy, and exceptional parishioner care skills at all times.
Be skilled in developing and fostering positive working relationships with parishioners, families, students, volunteers, and parish and school staff.
Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and meet established deadlines.
Ability to understand and adhere to an annual budget.
Must possess good verbal, written and presentation skills in both English and Spanish and willingness to use technology to promote and publicize Faith Formation programs and opportunities both within the parish and outside the parish.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Publisher plus the ability to learn new software.
Ability to work some nights and weekends.
