Description:
- Coordinator to provide a Religious Ed and Youth Ministry Program for our young people, grades 3-12.
- Directly supervise and be responsible for all youth involved in our program activities. Starting with a small group of children, provide them with vision, foster their involvement in the life of our parish, and help them to Hear and Receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ while providing a safe environment where they can share and grow together in the Catholic faith.
- Coordinate our youth's participation in diocesan retreat and conference events.
- Recruit, train, support, and evaluate the volunteers in our youth ministry program. Keep all appropriate records connected with our youth ministry program.
- Direct the outreach and evangelization efforts of our parish towards all our young people.
- Attend, participate and communicate as a member of the parish staff.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by the Pastor.
Requirements:
- Be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic.
- Be a strong Catholic role model for our youth.
- Experience as a youth minister or core team member.
- Have proven organizational skills.
- Will work collaboratively with Ascension’s religious education volunteers.
- Be committed to ongoing youth ministry formation and comply with all Diocese of Phoenix Safe Environment policies.
