Competencies:
1.The Creative Arts Pastor (CAP) is a disciple maker. The CAP invests in people and they catch that vision and go on to disciple others.
2.The CAP leads on and offstage comfortably and naturally in front of both large and small groups. The CAP’s personality comes through and the CAP is viewed by people as a leader.
3.The CAP builds and oversees all teams inside the auditorium for the weekend experience and special services.This includes sound and visual engineering, recordings, music, and any other applicable domain that pertains tothe weekend worship experience.
4.The CAP, whether an introvert or extrovert, energizes the people around him/her. People are excited and motivated to lead music and other moments during our weekend experience.
5.The CAP is competent at all things A/V in the auditorium. It is important that the CAP is able to understand and implement new technologies.
6.The CAP directly leads and develops an apprentice in their ministry areas.
7.The CAP provides a clear plan for worship services alongside the lead pastor and weekend experience team.
8.The CAP is a regular presence as a pastor on and off the stage including church events and community outreach.
9.The CAP is a part of regular staff meetings, creative meetings, and all other staff responsibilities.
10.The CAP is a team player who loves to help wherever he or she is needed.
11.The CAP meets all the criteria for being considered a member of Chaparral Christian Church.
12.The CAP must be in full alignment with the core values and beliefs of Chaparral Christian Church. Chaparral is an Independent Christian Church of the Stone-Campbell tradition. One distinct aspect of Chaparral is our full affirmation of women in leadership (don’t worry, we allow men to lead too!).
Calling: This person has a heart to develop and connect with people through music and technology. The CAP needs to be a devoted follower of Christ, and is living a spiritually surrendered life.
Character (special gifts):This person is expected to be of the highest moral and ethical character, according to biblical standard. In addition to being musically talented, the CAP must be a great learner of all things, able to lead to those “ahead” of them as well as those “behind,” creative, team-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and possess strong people skills.
