PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all financial operations including but not limited to payroll, payables, budget planning/implementation, weekly offering management
- Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance of the church to Exec Team (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required) on a monthly basis
- Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management
- Oversee annual audit, coordinate activities with outside audit firm and implement all suggested policies and practices
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures and financial controls for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, finance management for events, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other ministry policies.
- Responsible for all human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, insurance and related activities.
- Producing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and maintaining confidential individual contribution records and reporting of same to contributors on an appropriate basis.
- Responsible for safekeeping of all funds, securities and fiduciary documents of the church including proper records retention practices
- Volunteer recruiting, training and scheduling to oversee the offering process.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
- 10 + years experience in Finance Management including not for profit accounting experience
- Business Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
- CPA, preferred
- Experience working in a large church setting.
- Experience with outside auditor - preparation of required schedules, working papers and communication with outside CPA
- Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations
- Proficient computer skills, CRM or database experience (The Rock is a plus)
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of financial statement construction from bookkeeping/payroll through financial statements and interpretation
- Must align with the vision, values, and doctrinal statement of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
