Job Purpose:

Responsible for the daily operation of the church office and all related business. Serves as the point person for the communication between the staff, the congregation, and the community.

Duties:

  • Manage the Human Resources of the church, including payroll, personnel files, and adherence to the standards and operating procedures.
  • Manage the daily activities and workflow of the facility manager, administrative assistant, hospitality manager, front office receptionist, accountant, and all volunteers related to these ministers, as well as Café Soul.
  • Coordinate all facility-related activities such as baptisms, weddings, funerals, and rentals of facilities.
  • Set up and maintain the church calendar with the Pastoral Team.
  • Manage and coordinate the necessary IT services for the church office, including service and repairs.
  • Negotiate the service/purchase contracts to maintain all office equipment needed for the church office.
  • Direct the annual budgeting and planning process for the church’s annual budget.
  • Oversee the facility maintenance and planning, including capital repairs/replacements and the preventative maintenance program.
  • Maintain and update the administrative related standards and operating procedures, as needed.
  • Ensure the completion of background checks for all volunteers and employees.
  • Oversee the church property and liability insurance program.
  • Oversee the membership database management program (REALM) and ensure it is accurate and current.
  • Work closely with the Director of Communications to ensure the timeliness, relevance, and accuracy of church communications, including all print and digital, internal and external.
  • All other duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Manage the administrative and managerial work of the church.
  • Ability to foster effective communication within the church organization.
  • The ability to manage a consensus-driven decision-making process.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and additional software as required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • All church business must be kept confidential from all but authorized individuals at all times.
  • A Christian background and faith life, and a willingness to engage in the life of the Church.
  • Be professional and have strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.

Machines and Equipment Used: Various office equipment including but not limited to copier, telephone, and computer equipment.

Typical Physical Demands: Walking, sitting, bending, and lifting.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
