JOB SUMMARY: The Parish and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building, maintaining, and strengthening parish relationships and community partnerships throughout the Diocese of Phoenix. The purpose of the position is to engage the community in the work of Catholic Charities in coordination with the Office of Philanthropy by: Connecting parishioners and leaders directly to our mission, educating people about our services, partnering with Catholic Churches and schools and community partners, and promoting volunteer service and philanthropic opportunities throughout the Diocese of Phoenix.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Outreach, enhance and deliver interactive community presentations that engage stakeholders with a specialized focus among parishes and Catholic schools to invest in our mission, provide formation education, and increase mission awareness and philanthropic giving.
Support and coordinate parish and community outreach activities and materials to ensure designated program staff and volunteers are equipped to represent the agency and attract diverse audiences at parish and community events.
Assist in the planning of key annual events: Catholic Charities’ Awareness Month, New Priest, Pastor and Religious Orientation of Catholic Charities and Deacon Aspirant Orientation of Catholic Charities to educate Catholic leaders in our mission, programs and invite them and their parish to contribute alongside the most vulnerable we serve.
Maintain and seek creative forms of ongoing communication throughout parishes to sustain, increase and strengthen visibility and partnerships. This includes, but is not limited to mailing program brochures, thank you cards, follow up calls and emails, posting agency events on Diocese Flock notes and inviting parishes to CCUSA webinars that impact parishes.
Coordinate and assist with the Champions Program: Recruits and trains Champion volunteers to be liaisons between the needs and resources of the parish/community and Catholic Charities. This includes orientation, ongoing communication, monthly stewardship meetings, regular reporting, preparation and mailing of outreach materials, among other cultivation, stewardship and engagement activities.
Plan and assist year-round with donation drives and distributions with a focus at parishes and Catholic schools to increase engagement and resources while stewarding relationships to ensure participants and donors are thanked and celebrated.
Coordinate and organize Miracle Projects to welcome Catholic school students, staff and families to engage in our mission through service projects. This includes presentations, collections, deliveries and distributions of cash and/or in-kind donations and data entry in partnership with Philanthropy and program teams to ensure donations and volunteerism are accurately tracked and reported.
In alignment with Philanthropy Department goals and strategies, foster report between philanthropy, programs and administration to strengthen existing and surface new resources and partnerships with individuals, groups and organizations, with a specialized focus among parishes with designated expectation of increasing cash, volunteer and in-kind contributions.
Assist team members who manage and supervise volunteers with recruitment, orientation, training, retention and recognition of volunteers.
In collaboration with key marketing and philanthropy team members coordinate communication efforts. Provide additional marketing and creative support to enhance volunteerism and resource development with a specialized focus among parishes.
Support the Parish and Diocesan Engagement Manager with diocesan offices, Catholic schools, parish and Champion volunteer relationships.
Maintain professional ties with other service organizations/boards/committees/events/fundraisers for the benefit of agency programs, with a specialized focus among parishes and the Catholic community.
Maintains documentation and reporting of parish, community and volunteer engagement in VolunteerHub and Raiser’s Edge and prepares statistical reports as needed or requested documenting progress of department and teamwork.
Promote ongoing commitment to excellence and continual quality improvement to ensure the highest quality of services to our staff and clients.
Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education /Background: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year knowledge of parish (Catholic Church) and church life.
Job Knowledge: Volunteer recruitment and training, knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching, basic theology and structure of Diocesan and parish relationships. Strong leadership skills with an ability to supervise volunteers and interns. Proven public speaking skills and competency. Good relational and communication skills including versatility with web technology and virtual communications. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the agency and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications (Word & Outlook). Raiser’s Edge and VolunteerHub experience preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory interact with clients and staff. Requires considerable work outside of the office and some travel within the state. Schedule will require some flexibility, evenings and weekend work on occasion. May lift to 25 pounds.

Other requirements:
Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to show proof of registration/insurance.
Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance.
You must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities.
