About this event
Unequal access to medical and mental health care is a major contributor to health care disparities among communities of color. Other contributing factors include a lack of cultural sensitivity by healthcare professionals, distrust of the health system, socioeconomic gaps, etc. Communities of color also often feel marginalized and may utilize family, community, and/or spiritual support as a primary source of medical/ mental treatment in lieu of healthcare professionals — even when it is critically necessary.
This forum will provide communities of color with information & resources related to accessing vital services for medical and mental healthcare.
FREE COVID-19 VACCINATIONS AND SCREENINGS WILL BE PROVIDED ON-SITE
