Imago Dei
According to Christianity.com, Imago Dei originated from the Latin version of the Bible. When translated to English, it is "Image of God."
This phrase is found in Genesis 1:27, wherein "God created man in his own image…." Additionally, this phrase signifies the symbolical connection between God and humanity.
Christianity.com further explained the meaning of "Imago Dei" by citing the definition from pbs.org.
Imago Dei's phrase pertains to the two most fundamental things: first, God's self–actualization through humankind. The second is God's care for humanity.
To say that humans are made in the image of God is to acknowledge the unique qualities of human nature that allow God to manifest in humans.
