About Ebenezer Family of Homes

According to Ebenezer Shepherding Ministries of Africa, Ebenezer Grace Children’s Home (EGCH) was the pioneer of the Ebenezer Homes. It opened its doors in 2010 with one kid. As years passed, the number of children, staff, and ministry increased, often more than 40 children.

The children come from diverse backgrounds, tribes, and subcultures. As shared on the website, some children are regarded as “cursed” based on tribal conditions, and some are even sentenced to death.

While others are abandoned as infants, Ebenezer Grace Children’s Home welcomes every child, regardless of their background. Furthermore, it believes that the Lord loves and designs a future for each child.

Ebenezer Grace Children’s Home also believes that as long as the child stays in the home, the ministry is allowed to be a part of their story and become part of the home.

The children’s Home is one of the ministries at Ebenezer Shepherding Ministries of Africa. ESMA is a 501c3 U.S. non–profit organization. It relies solely on donations and sponsorship. Both are subjected to tax deductions.

According to Cambridge University Press, there are different accounts of the origin of Christianity in Ethiopia. However, many of them have no sufficient historical basis.

The Royal Chronicles and other native works provided one tradition that claims Apostle Thomas was responsible for introducing Christianity into Ethiopia. On the other hand, the Origen pertains to Apostle Matthew as a missionary to the Ethiopians, an association that Rufinus also provides.

There are more legends and stories about the origin of Christianity in Ethiopia. Moreover, there was no trustworthy record of Christianity in this country in the first century.

Calvary San Diego supports missionaries across the globe through communication, financial means, prayer, and a short-term trip to the field.
