The First Congregational Church of Ramona is to reach out to the community through Free Farmers Market this May.
The church partners with Feeding San Diego to provide food to those who need it. The Free Farmers Market opens on May 13 from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Food For All, Free Farmers Market
As shared on the events section of its website, the First Congregational Church of Ramona will hold a Free Farmers Market for all. The church addresses food insecurity by providing food in partnership with Feeding San Diego.
The Free Farmers Market will open on May 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. It will open again on June 10 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
For May and June, the Free Farmers Market will be set up at the church's grounds. The First Congregational Church of Ramona and Feeding San Diego will provide produce, canned foods, and more.
The church also encourages volunteers to help them from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. or from noon until 3 p.m.
TV, Computer Recycling Drive
As announced on Facebook last April 2, Saturday, FCC Ramona hosted a TV and Computer Recycling Drive. This event is in cooperation with Boy Scout Troop 130.
According to the announcement, it can cost quite a bit to dispose of TVs and computers. However, everyone can bring them for Free and support Boy Scout Troop 130.
Missions at FCC Ramona
"Loving God by Loving Others."
As shared on its website, the First Congregational Church of Ramona houses several missions to help those in need within its community.
It can be a need for food, assistance for people experiencing temporary financial hardships, or clothing and other resources for low-income families in Ramona.
Free Farmers Market
This market opens every second Friday of every month. Feeding San Diego provides the food. Then, volunteers from the church and other organizations help make everything run smoothly[DR1].
The First Congregational Church of Ramona also distributes food on Saturday morning for the residents of Ramona Terrace Estate.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands is a community outreach by the FCC Ramona as shared on Facebook. Individual volunteers, small groups, and larger groups assist those in need of help with tasks in their homes.
According to the church's webpage, it is a non–budgeted ministry. Its funds come from fundraising and direct donations.
Ramona Food,Clothes Closet
The church collects toiletries and non – perishable food throughout the year to be given to RF&CC.
The Ramona Food and Clothes Closet provides emergency food, clothing, and other resources to help individuals and low–income families in Ramona, Santa Ysabel, Julian, Ranchita, Borrego Springs, Warner Springs, and other outlying rural areas.
In December, the church also collects unwrapped toys for this organization's Share Your Holidays program.
