Foothills Christian Church to start class

Foothills Christian Church will begin its class about the gifts and baptism of the Holy Spirit on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The church’s website announced that Jym Deyling would lead the four-week course. They added that it would be every Tuesday evening.

Besides, the participants would discover the views of the Bible about the gifts and baptism of the Holy Spirit. They emphasized that the course is beneficial for everyone.

Foothills Christian Church encouraged new believers and those with more experience to attend the said class.

The Holy Spirit

The Brethren in Christ U.S. website discussed that the Holy Spirit co-exists with the Father and the son. It serves as a divine person, as emphasized on the website. They mentioned that the Spirit exists and is active in the world's creation.

Moreover, the website stressed that the Spirit is present in the Old Testament and was exposed further in the New Testament. They explained that when Jesus became a man, He reflected on what it is like to live in the Spirit.

As further mentioned, the Holy Spirit came from God to continue the work of Jesus when He went back to heaven. This event happened during the Pentecost as Jesus promised to His disciples.

Work of The Holy Spirit

The same website noted the function of the Holy Spirit, which works on earth. They said the Holy Spirit convinces people to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. It also serves as a guide for Jesus’ followers to walk continuously toward Him.

In addition, they stated that The Holy Spirit is the “counselor.” He is always there for God’s children to help them remember the teachings of Jesus. They emphasized that the Holy Spirit is the Truth that leads followers.

More importantly, the website mentioned that the Holy Spirit guarantees the everlasting inheritance that Jesus Christ promised.

According to the same website, spiritual gifts are from the Holy Spirit. The Spirit gives people gifts suitable for God’s will and reasons, as further explained on the website. They said that the Bible shows a wide range of gifts God has given to establish a church and for His mission.

They stated that The Holy Spirit leads the church is separating people for leadership. They explained that the church is accountable for knowing and motivating the function of the gifts of the Spirit.
