As shared on Facebook, for the month of February, The Church at Rancho Bernardo partnered with STEP or Support the Enlisted Project.  This partnership collected and distributed baby items to struggling military moms in San Diego County.

The church reminded everyone to drop off new baby clothes and gently used baby items during the Good Neighbor Day last Saturday, February 26. It encouraged everyone to get involved in lifting up and supporting military families in their neighborhood.

The Church at Rancho Bernardo accepted donations from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Some included in the list of needed donations are diapers of all sizes, baby wipes, onesies, car seats, strollers, playpens, Enfamil Gentlease Formula, toddler size clothing, receiving blankets, new infant clothing, and washcloth sets.

Support the Enlisted Project (STEP)

According to its webpage, STEP builds financial sufficiency among junior active duty enlisted members and recently discharged enlisted veterans and families facing financial crises. STEP makes this mission a reality by providing counseling, education, and grants.

Support the Enlisted Project or popularly known as STEP gives emergency financial grants and transition assistance grants to active duty and recently discharged enlisted members and their families. STEP now also serves Southern California and WA.

The organization serves those in pay grades of E1 to E6 either on active duty or honorably discharged within the past 12 months.  The assistance given aims to help them successfully reintegrate into civilian life.

STEP helps military families in the form of grants not loans for unexpected hardships. It will also partner with other organizations in the community, to meet the needs that it does not provide. These are all stated on Charity Navigator website. STEP works for the benefit of the Nation’s heroes and the families they frequently leave behind.
