Hope Presbyterian Church will hold a dinner for young married couples at Pastor Joe’s house on Saturday, Jan.14.

The church’s website announced that they would also have a game night during the event.

Church Community

Hope Presbyterian Church beleives that as one body of Christ, everyone needs a community, as mentioned in another section. They added that the church provides various ways for its members to be involved in the Hope community.

As further explained, when groups meet, they seek to develop deeper relationships by helping others focus on Jesus Christ.

The Adult section noted that The Adult Group (TAG) is a unique team for older singles and married couples. The church explained TAG aims to minister to one another and assist them as they walk in Christ.

In addition, the website stated that most TAG members are part of the church’s leadership in various ministries.

Koinonia Groups

On another webpage, Hope Presbyterian Church highlighted its Koinonia Groups (KG’s). They said that KGs are places where members could mature in small parts of the community within the church.

As further explained, the primary mission of these groups is to help individuals develop spiritually through smaller groups. They added that each EG group seeks to discover God through the Bible or books with particular aspects of what the Scripture teaches.

Moreover, the members would learn how to live out God’s truth in their lives with each other, as stated on the website.

Needs of Young Couples

According to the Family Life Website, young couples need a growing spouse in their lives that can give them wisdom. They explained that as a society becomes more into personal rights, people tend to avoid teaching others about life.

The website emphasized that it is not about forcing or judging someone when they receive learnings from others. But, it is more about fulfilling the hungry and healing the sick, as the website notes.

Moreover, the website highlighted the Bible verse in Titus 2:2-8 wherein Paul intentionally motivates the older people in the church to teach the younger generations.

In the Scripture, Paul emphasized that older men should be sensible and mature in their faith. He added that older ladies should have honorable behavior and not involve in malicious gossip.

The behaviors empower young women to love their husbands and children. They said that young women could learn how to have a sensible and pure home from older women.

As further revealed, Paul noted in the Scripture that young men should also be responsible for everything. He indicated that they should be role models of good deeds and be dignified.

Mature Couples to Young Couples

The same website emphasized that mature couples may feel they do not have the right to guide young couples because they do not have a perfect marriage. But, they stressed that a relationship is not about perfection.

Besides, they noted that relationship is about growing. The website pointed out that if the older couple is growing and has a Bible-centered relationship, they could be suitable candidates to guide couples in the congregation.
